Europe of Traditions – The ETC: Europa Traditionae Consortium
Solares de Portugal – Internationalization through Cooperation of the Traditions of Europe
TURIHAB is the President of an International network, which is Europe of Traditionae Consortium. It’s a Consortium of five organisations, offering a personal style of hospitality in homes of character, all interested in preserving and helping their costumers to enjoy the heritage and culture of their country and their region, be this reflected in the arquitecture, or food and wine.
The European Web, Traditions of Europe, founded in 1996 - ETC Europa Traditionae Consortium, offers 500 houses made available by the partnership Solares de Portugal (97 houses) – Portugal, Wolsey Lodges (250 houses) – United Kingdom, Hidden Ireland (45 houses) – Ireland; Chateau Accueil (48 houses) – France, and Erfgoed Logies (60 houses) – the Nederlands. www.europetraditions.com
2001 was the golden year for internationalization of this European web. It solidified the project INTERREG II C - “The Atlantic Tourist Destiny of the Traditions of Europe that have as an principal objective the exchange of knowledge between partners. Through this action, projects were developed to increase the principal items of tourist interest, connecting with the web, the lodgings of Europe of the Atlantic Space Traditions.
Together with the partners of Europe of Traditions, TURIHAB participated in the annual meetings held in Amsterdaym Ponte de Lima, and London, producing a brochure promoting the various partners, and the web site www.europetraditions.com.
The Common Objectives are:
- To promote a unique product - quality accommodation in private homes
- To Improve marketing skills and brochure distribution
- To Facilitate the exchange of Ideas and networking
- To Promote tourism to Europe, particularly from Japan, America and Australia
- To lobby on behalf of members In relation to EU legislation
- To work towards the conservation and development of the culture and heritage of member countries
